MINI Electrifies the UK with the All-New 2023 Countryman: Bigger, Smarter, and Ready to Roll!
01 September 2023

Get ready to be electrified, UK car enthusiasts! MINI has just turned up the voltage at the 2023 IAA Munich Motor Show by unveiling the electrifying third-generation Countryman alongside the stunning Cooper Electric. Brace yourselves for a larger and more versatile compact SUV that's sure to electrify your driving experience!

The new MINI Countryman is making quite the entrance with its sleek, simplified design. Taking a page from the new Cooper's playbook, it sports an octagonal grille and streamlined lighting both up front and in the rear. However, the Countryman adds its own distinctive touch with lozenge-shaped headlights. And for those who love a dash of personalization, you can choose from three different LED running light signatures to make your mark on the 2024 Countryman, just like in the Cooper Electric.

But the real headline here is the increased size, making the Countryman a practical choice for growing families. It's 13cm longer and 6cm taller than its predecessor, translating into more room for everyone on board. The boot space is nothing to sneeze at either, with up to 460 litres with the rear seats up, expanding to a whopping 1,450 litres with them folded down. Plus, there's a handy storage space under the boot floor for your electric model's charging cables. You can even adjust the rear bench to prioritize passenger space or boot capacity, and the seat backs recline individually in six different positions for ultimate comfort.

Inside, the Countryman shares its tech prowess with the three-door MINI, boasting a 9.4-inch central OLED display known as the MINI Interaction Unit. It runs on Operating System 9 software, based on Android open-source technology, offering an array of Experience Modes. Whether you prefer the classic Mini speedo with Timeless mode or want to showcase your personality with a custom background photo in Personal mode, the choice is yours. The Interaction Unit can even pick up the main colours from your chosen image and sync them across the screen, making it a visual treat.

The icing on the tech cake is the corresponding soundtrack in Countryman Electric models, matching the mood of your drive mode. Ambient lighting takes it up a notch with LEDs and projections, bathing the cabin in different colors and patterns to suit your ride.

Under the bonnet, you'll find two electric powerhouses – the MINI Countryman Electric E and the Countryman Electric SE. Both pack a 64.7kWh battery, delivering 201bhp and 250Nm of torque in the Electric E for a sprightly 0-62mph sprint in just 8.6 seconds. The base-spec Countryman EV can go up to 287 miles on a full charge. Opt for the Electric SE, and you'll experience a thrilling 308bhp and 494Nm of torque, zooming from 0-62mph in a hot 5.6 seconds. The trade-off for that extra oomph is a range of 269 miles. Plus, with DC charging at 130kW, these electric marvels recharge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes.

But the Countryman isn't just about electric power. Petrolheads can choose from an array of petrol engine options, including the MINI Countryman C, producing 167bhp and 280Nm of torque, or the four-wheel-drive Countryman S ALL4 with a beefy 215bhp and 360Nm of torque. And for those who crave the ultimate adrenaline rush, the Countryman JCW ALL4 offers a blistering 296bhp and 400Nm of torque.

The chassis tech is equally impressive, with various chassis settings and optional adaptive suspension for a sportier feel. Lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels, made from 70% secondary aluminium, add a touch of sustainability to your drive.

MINI hasn't forgotten about style, offering three trim levels – Classic, Exclusive, and Sport. Each brings its own flair to the table, from knitted textile interiors to two-tone houndstooth patterns and eye-catching multi-colored textiles.

Safety and convenience are also top priorities, with the new Countryman being the first MINI to feature Level 2 semi-autonomous driving tech. Automatic Active Cruise Control with Steering and Lane Assistant lets you relax behind the wheel in slow-moving traffic.

Excitingly, this electrifying adventure starts at just £28,500 for the Countryman C, with first deliveries set for February 2024. The Countryman S comes in at £33,900, while the JCW starts from £39,900. As for the electric models, the Countryman Electric E and Electric SE can be yours for £41,500 and £46,600 respectively.

So, if you're craving an electrifying and spacious driving experience that oozes style and tech, the all-new MINI Countryman has your name on it. Get ready to hit the road in style and comfort like never before!
