The Polestar 4
Polestar has revealed its fastest model to date with the unveiling of the Polestar 4.
There is a lot going on for the brand founded by Volvo and China's Geely as they are already planning to launch the Polestar 3 SUV later in 2023.
The brand has now revealed an SUV Coupe packed with serious levels of performance. Although, confusingly the Polestar 4 will be positioned between the Polestar 2 and Polestar 3 in terms of its size and price tag.
Polestar 4 Design
The Polestar 4 has a sleek, angular look at the front with twin headlights and a large cut out for the grille underneath. The front camera is mounted in the grille under the lip in the dashboard.
From the side, you can see the sloping roof design from behind the B-pillar, which is completely different from the more practical SUV 3. Additionally, the wheels range in size from 20 to 22 inches.
The rear design is neat, which is a common theme with the car. You get a full-width rear light strip that angles down either side, while there are black lower trims and a sporty rear design. A noticeable absence is the lack of a rear window. This allows the glass roof to extend over the heads of people sitting in the rear seats, while making the chassis of the car more rigid. Don't worry, you have a digital rear view mirror so you can see out the back.
Polestar 4 Interior
Polestar is known for its minimalist interior design and the 4 continues this trend. It has plenty of straight lines with simple angles, while you get two large, clear screens and sport seats upholstered in recycled materials.
You'll also be bathed in light thanks to the optional glass roof that can be fitted with electrochromic blinds that block out the sun without a curtain, while the central armrest has a large storage compartment underneath. You also get a screen instead of a rear view mirror, with the feed coming from a camera mounted on the rear of the vehicle.
You get 500 litres of boot space in the, while there’s a small 15-litre load space under the bonnet – ideal for storing your charging cables.
Polestar 4 Performance and Range
There will be both single and dual-motor versions of the Polestar 4, with power of up to 552 PS and 686 Nm of torque, thanks to a 102 kWh battery.
That’s enough to launch the Polestar 4 from 0-62 mph in just 3.8 seconds, which comes close to matching the pace of Tesla's range-topping Model Y Performance.
Single-motor versions of the Polestar 4 are rear-wheel drive. And the Long range Single motor Polestar 4 has a target range of up to 372 miles between charges.
