17 May 2023

The Peugeot 2008 has received a mid-life upgrade to keep it up to date and looking fresh.

This is an upgraded Peugeot 2008 that benefits from revised styling, new interior technology and updated engines by the French manufacturer. The Electric variant has also received a larger battery with more range to keep up with competitors like the Kia Niro EV and Vauxhall Mokka Electric.

Peugeot 2008 Design

The Peugeot 2008 has always been a stylish small SUV and this facelift maintains that. At the front, you get a new grille inspired by the larger Peugeot 408, as well as updated "lion's claw" daytime running lights. The side profile of the vehicle maintains the same styling. Also, there are new alloy wheel models, with sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches. The rear has new LED tail lights and the badge has been replaced in favor of the word Peugeot spelled out on the tailgate.

Peugeot 2008 Interior and Infotainment

Regarding the interior, the changes are less dramatic with the new facelift. You still have a small steering wheel like all other Peugeot models and there are also new technologies on board. You now get a 10.0-inch digital driver display and a 10.0-inch infotainment display with new and improved voice commands. The higher spec GT models also receive luxurious Alcantara upholstery on the seats.

Peugeot 2008 Engine

The new Peugeot 2008 will be available with the same 1.2 litre petrol engine as the current car. You can get 100hp or 130hp, and it's available with  a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic in the more powerful model. From 2024, a new hybrid version will also join the lineup. It will use a modified version of the 1.2 litre petrol engine, combined with a small electric motor to produce 136hp, this model will be able to run at low speeds in electric-only mode, and it will also be more fuel-efficient.

Peugeot E-2008 Engine and Battery

The all-electric Peugeot E-2008 has received a more comprehensive update under the hood with a new battery and engine combination. You now get a 54 kWh battery, from the car's 5 kWh unit, with a 252-mile range which is a 48-mile improvement over the old model, however still remains 30 miles less than the Kia Niro EV. As for the engine, it is 20 hp more powerful than before for a total output of 156hp.
